A 2.5 hour workshop for parents-to-be, delivered by experienced Clinical Psychologists.

Much of the advice we receive as parents-to-be focuses upon the physical experience of pregnancy and giving birth or the practical skills that may be required as you become a new parent. However, what is often missing is the emotional and psychological preparation that is vital to ensuring you can become the parents YOU want to be.

With Baby in Mind will equip you with mindfulness skills you can use throughout pregnancy and beyond; to bring you a sense of calmness and connection to your current experience, helping you to avoid the common trap of getting caught up in daily stresses. These will be skills you can use during the birth of your baby, helping you emotionally through whatever birth experience you have, as well as in those early days and weeks following your baby’s arrival, when emotionally, things can sometimes feel overwhelming. The Kind Mind encourages partners to attend too as these skills are helpful for everyone.

You may also feel there are already a lot of expectations set upon you by friends, family, other parents, professionals, the media, etc., about how you should manage your pregnancy, on what sort of birth experience you should have, and how you should parent your baby. But what about what YOU want, what YOU value, what sort of parent YOU want to be? With Baby in Mind will help you to begin to identify what is important to you and how these core values can guide you through the parenting adventure.
